There are over 30 randomised clinical controlled trials supporting the application of KSM-66 Ashwagandha® for a wide range of health concerns. One of the most cited randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials demonstrating the adaptogenic benefits of KSM-66 Ashwagandha® at 600mg daily, showed significant improvement across all validated stress, anxiety and depression measures, including the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) and all four subsets of the General Health Questionnaire-28 (GHQ-28), which captures somatic symptoms, anxiety and insomnia, social dysfunction and severe depression. Serum cortisol levels were also significantly reduced.

The nootropic benefits of enXtra® Alpinia galanga extract at 300 mg has been clinically shown to improve alertness, occurrence, reaction time, and reduce errors. As there is a lack of safety data for both ingredients in Ashwagandha Clarity, we do not recommend use in pregnancy and lactation unless clearly indicated.

• Alpinia galanga: While Alpinia galanga is not specifically contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation, there is insufficient reliable evidence so we recommend to avoid use.
• Withania somnifera: There are references to ashwagandha used as both an abortifacient and pregnancy tonic. The strength or accuracy of this information is difficult to assess given the lack of detail regarding dose, duration and plant part used. For this reason, we recommend to avoid use in pregnancy.

We use Withania somnifera (KSM-66 Ashwagandha®) from India, sourced from Ixoreal Biomed. We also use enXtra®, a clinically studied Alpinia galanga extract developed by ENovate Biolife and sourced from OmniActive, both Indian companies. For Ashwagandha Clarity, we use Capsugel® Plantcaps® from Lonza, a plant-based capsule made from pullulan, a naturally occurring polysaccharide derived from fermented tapioca. A chlorophyllin-copper complex gives them their naturally green colour. Lonza capsules are widely considered gold-standard and the cleanest capsules available. Yes. While we think it's best to consider dropping or reducing caffeine, there are studies on enXtra® that have actually found that enXtra® is not only more potent than caffeine, but also reduces the jitters associated with caffeine.

Yes if required. Both KSM-66 Ashwagandha® and enXtra® have good safety profiles and even though Ashwagandha Clarity contains more than twice the amount of extract than many other practitioner only Ashwagandha products (600 mg vs 240 mg), taking two capsules twice daily when required is completely suitable in most cases.

We have had excellent feedback on Ashwagandha Clarity for patients experiencing high anxiety and stress relating to burnout.
